Coach Doug Blubaugh was wrestler of the world in 1960 and he used to always say the hardest thing to do is beat a Russian because the refs wer afraid and the scorers were afraid -he said even in america you had to damn near kill the guy because Americans will bend over backwards to placate the Russians .
I was fortunate enough at my time at IU to meet 2 men who weren't afraid of the Bear-coach Blubaugh and Bob Knight . I was at the game when Knight took his shoe off and started pounding it on the scoring table and then took his tam off the court . Some say bad sportsmanship-that game had nothing to do with sportsman ship-it was about how far would America bend over for Russia and Knight let them know you do not come into his house with the weak BS the Russians were pulling .

This poster talks about "Russian Fags"... I just wanted to draw attention to that comment, which I thought was kind of silly. Clearly I didn't do a very good job of it.
