His brother soslan by the way lost to Saitiev in the finals at 74kg.

This Tigiev wrestled in 03 Worlds for Russia befor Gatsalov took over. He came out of nowhere. On the Russian forum they say Soslan is his brother.

KAZ qualified this weight at the Asian championships where their wrestler (it was not Tigiev) placed 3rd. The countries (UZB & IRI) whose wrestlers placed 1st and 2nd there, had qualified already at the 2007 worlds, so KAZ got the Olympic spot.

Wow, Taimuraz Tigiev was basically let go from the Russian team for bad performance. They gave up on him and here he is in Olympic finals.
