Hey guys, figured I'd go ahead and give this a shot considering I'm not getting any younger and I'd like to compete one day...

My question is: How does a 21 year old with absolutly no experience in freestyle wrestling get into the sport? I'd like to compete one day and I've always had an intrest in wrestling but throughout middle school and highschool wrestling was never offered as a sport, bummer. I've since taken up sports such as submission grappling and sports jiu jitsu but there's just something about freestyle wrestling that makes me want to try it. Thanks in advance.

Honestly? First I would go to themat-dot-com and ask this same question on the message boards there. They are extremely excited about new people into the sport and there are a lot of older wrestlers who would be willing to help you out.

Other than that I would look for a local wrestling club where I know they would be happy to help develop your skills.
