Are we forgetting Gene Mills? 82 straight international wins. May not be the most decorated as far as Olympic medals go, but ask the guys that wrestled or coached him.

Mills went 8-0 in the Tbilisi tournament, with 7 pins. In the finals, he was ahead 18-0 when they cautioned the Russian out of the match for stalling. Gene was the only wrestler ever to score a perfect mark in this tournament. The perfect mark means he beat each of his opponents by 12 or more points. Voted OW and American in Russia. The US has more Olympic Champions than Tbilisi Champions.

Hell he beat every guy that competed at his weight class at the Olympics the year we boycotted and FILA had to change the scoring rules because Gene scored too many points on guys before he pinned them. Gene is the reason Tech falls even ever came into existence.

3x World Cup Champ
1980 World Super Champ in Japan OW
Rokoczi Cup Champ in Hungary and voted the Outstanding Wrestler
Cerra Pellado Champion in Cuba and voted the Outstanding Wrestler
Roger Goulon Champion in France and voted the Outstanding Wrestler

Think about it. How many pins have you seen in international competition?

I can think of a guy who has probably more pins than him. Let's see, uhhh... oh yea, Aleksandr Karelin. He pinned his oppenent in the '92 Olympic finals. No i take that back, Karelin's oppenent pinned himself cause he was scared out of his mind. karelin really didn't have to pin any of his oppenents, they did it for him. Has anyone pinned themself for Gene Mills; I don't think so.

Well since we were talking about freestyle I'm not sure Karelin even comes into play.

Overzealous kids. They make me laugh. Hey son isn't it past your bedtime. You should be up by 5am to run before school.

I'm pretty sure a pin in freestyle and a pin in greco don't differ; they both need an oppenents shoulder blades on the mat for at least one second and thats a pin. Also, in freestyle you can get a pin without using legs. I see it all the time like headthrows to a pin and suplexes etc. It's not like its the rules to not use feet to get a pin in freestyle.

Son read the title of this thread. This is about freestyle. Not greco. That's a different thread. You see any headthrows on here tonight? You see any suplexes? I missed the headthrows and suplexes.

I'll talk to his coach. Not sure Eric Desormeaux wants him on here using that language and representing his school and team like that.
