Wada was a very slick, technical wrestler who beat the hell out of Gable on his feet in 1971........until Gable bar armed him late in the match and stuck him.

Gable was an irresistable force........he beat on people and broke them and then stuck them. His bar arms were dangerous........he was cut out of the same mold as Doug Blubaugh who was way before your time, Big.

So Big, how are the U.S. FSers gonna do? Are they also beat up from running Pike's Peak??
BTW, I saw PP upclose and personal 2 weeks ago and would have no trouble making it to the top..........on my motorcycle!

Maybe so but his competition was average at best with regard to other Olympics, especially today.

There are 15 Wadas at these Olympics at 74kg for example.

I don't have much optimism for American freestyle this year. Hopefully I will be proven wrong.

Actually Movahed was the best wrestler. He was a 5X World champ (1970, 1969, 1967, 1966 & 1965) and 1968 Olympic Gold medalist. I believe he injured his shoulder in 1971.

He never got the chance to wrestle Gable. That would have been the match we needed to say that Gable was indisputably the best.

I don't see him winning more than two matches depending on the draw.
