How did Deitchler's guy get 3? Did they award him a takedown? Per usual, the scoreboard showed Deitchler winning 3-2 and they raised the other guy's hand. If I'm confused then a casual fan has NO idea what's going on

They had to make it to the quarters to have a chance. If that happened the wrestler who beat them had to make it into the finals to have a chance for bronze.

they apparently dont update the score board but he was awarded the 1 point and then the 2 and because he scored last he gets the win even though it was tied 3-3

They gave the other guy 2 then 1, the score was actually 3-3. I was confused as well.

it was explained to me by someone far more intelligent that when the 3 points is secured the wrestler that scored last wins, but deitchler lost it for him self his corner was screaming to cut him and he held onto the weak front head lock

What was the "1" for Jake opponent? A TD before/after the gutwrench? Since Jake got a scoring move on top, the other guy doesn't get a point right?

I think it was 2 for exposure, but Jake was still on top, then 1 for reversal. Just a guess.
