LAST 5 YEAR TEAM CHAMPIONS:

2008 CLOVIS (CENTRAL CA)
2007 VACAVILLE (NORTHERN CA)
2006 BUCHANAN (CENTRAL CA)
2005 POWAY (SOUTHERN CA)
2004 BAKERSFIELD (CENTRAL CA)

Most Team Titles

8 Clovis (Central CA)(1974-76, 1990-92, 2003, 2008)
7 Calvary Chapel, Santa Ana (Southern CA)(1993-94, 1996-98, 2000)
3 Clovis West (Central)(1983-84, 1989)
3 Poway (Southern)(1986, 1999, 2005)
2 Bakersfield (Central)(2002, 2004)

I would say that Central CA is/has been better than both Northern & Southern CA.

The southern section masters has to be the toughest section to get out of, previous years before last we only could send top 8 out of our big section, finally last season we got another entry, so yeah, when some teams are sending half their team or more to state while the southern section is knocking eachother off it makes it a little unfair.

yup. so true. i think Temecula Valley will be one of the top teams next season especially if they could bring their whole team through the southern section masters.

temecula lost alot of guys this year. and bigperm said it best. because the south is so large, ss-masters (especially a week before state), really puts a hurting on alot of wrestlers. guys will wrestle 6-7 matches just to qualify for state. where in some sections, the guy seeded number 1 in the section tournament only has to win like one match to qualify.
