What do you all think the best defense to someone who is deep in on a shot.

Depends right? If an opponent knows that that is your primary counter to his shot then he is going to come prepared with his own counter...I always liked to watch Damian Hahn just sit on people's heads and square his hips however, once an opponent did that to Hahn once, they felt it. They rarely shot the double again.

This sounds weird but it works. If your opponent has his hands locked around both your legs, reach over his back and push his heels apart. That will break his grip and you can whizzer, crossface or whatever. This was taught to me by a master level Russian coach and it works - try it.

Personlly, I liked using the Whizzer & push the head away style, using my hip with a sharp thumb into the neck area and then forcefully push the head into the mat while lifting my close ankle. |

Maybe you mean 0:20, but I didn't see much benefit other than redistributing weight over the back of the opponent. In fact it appeared so m uch weight was over the top it would have been easier to lift the legs and turn, given better position. - - unless of course you've got spider limbs. |

That wasn't really it. You grab his heels and turn them outward to break the grip. I'm not kidding. Have someone do it to you and you'll see. (It even works with regular human limbs  .)
