Re: What Is A Leg Ride ? Getting out of the leg ride is all about creating space between you and your opponent. The leg ride is most effective when there is no space. When space is created, it is easy to slip out or put them in bad position to get away.
I even have another way to get out of it but it requires a little athleticism and toughness because it can be painful. When your opponent puts in the half(right side for example purposes), you bridge hard into them and grab the back of their head with the same arm they have the half in. You hook their head and bridge hard and create space. Once done, you hip heist to your right while keeping their head hooked. You usually catch them on their back and can keep them there or they have to bail and they get reversed.
Like I said, this can be a little painful to get out from, but I have found it quite effective in leg ride defense. I've found the forearm hook on their leg can get them in trouble as most kids almost always pull it straight up and never quite get away or get a potentially dangerous call and are put back down.
