This might sound a bit silly but I want to be just like Dan Gable, Cael Sanderson, the Brands brothers, and John Smith. I want to be the best. I started wrestling last year in 6th grade. I went to every practice and during the summer i went to practice 6 times a week 6 hours long and on Saturdays I competed. Now I am in 7th grade beating the crap out of kids or have been wrestling from 3 to 6 years long and winning most my matches against freshmen sophmore jv matches. Well that pretty much somes it up. I have made a commitment that Im gonna stick to. Dont make fun of me please because im just going to ignore you. Any tips on being the best. Well I have a tournament tommarrow morning so i gotta get to bed. Wish me luck.

Let me just say you have a great attitude. In my HS wrestling room there were a bunch of posters but this was my favorite: "The will to win is not nearly as important as the will to prepare to win."

the best wrestling advice I ever got, is that when train you need to wrestle with people you beat easily, people who are as good as you, and people who beat you easily. Keep pushing yourself. When you get beat in a match or a practice, it is only making you better. Waartburg College has the philosophy of striving to get just a little bit better (1% better) every day. I think this makes a lot of sense. |
