If it is still run the same way, I was a big fan of the Iowa State Takedown Camp (if it even exists still)... This doesn't speak for all of the ISU camps in their system, but that one was good.

I was not a fan of the Iowa Intensive camp, but Im a sissy. I felt they spent too much time in the Sauna in the middle of the summer. If you're trying to improve your technique, definitely stick with camps describe themselves as such in their brochure.

Clarion University had a real good team camp back in the day. I don't know if they still do it. They broke up groups of about 15 wrestlers to get close attention from coaches. Then they watched you wrestle in matches throughout the week and took notes for things you can do to improve. Its cool to have notes written about my wrestling from an olympian.

Having attended and or worked at the most elite camps in the nation I would have to rank them as such
1) Best Technique and Best Coaches Chertow Gold Medal
2) Best "I'm gonna be a bad ass camp" J Rob. Intense
3) Best learning how to break someone camp Jeff Jordan State Champ Camp
What I would send my son to age 8-14 Chertow Gold Medal
15-18 Jeff Jordan
one time only age 16-18 J. Rob

We did three weeks of Chertow's camps to get my daughter ready for Western Regionals and Nationals, and other than her first match at Regionals, she wrestled very well as a result. We plan on three more weeks as well.

Lots of technique, lots of drilling, lots of live wrestling, lots of training tips, and Chertow would wear out the energizer bunny with his intensity. That kind of intensity is also something he demands out of his staff..... and he hires a lot of staff plus encourages dads and coaches to help out. These camps also break up into seperate groups so the little ones are not forgotten, while the older kids can keep up the intensity.

Granby is probaly one of the top ones...but if you want a real good one to learn technique....Go to Stanford wrestling technqiue...Some of the counclers there are, former ncaa champ Matt Gentry, former all-americans Tanner gardner and josh zupanic, and one of my favorites...Vic Moreno one of the top 125 wrestlers in the country..olympic hopeful ranked 3rd in the nation. All of these guys show personal tricks they have...for example, Gardner's nasty tilt series, Zupanic's deadly flipper switch and so on.

One of the best things about this camp is that their only 30 at the most campers, so its small and to crowded like granby

To me its like asking who is the best looking girl in the school. Its probably more a matter of familiarity than most would admit.

I would agree with Tight Waist. I've had wrestlers go to Iowa State Intensive camps and it kicked their butts. I've also taken some to Wrestle the World with Terry Brands and they got a lot out of that one. I've also heard great things about the Camp of Champs.
