Hey everyone, well..I'm sorta bummed out on how I missed out on HS wrestling. Me, being from Canada, wrestling isn't really that big out here. I mean, we do have maybe 3-4 high schools in my district that offer a wrestling program and around 2-4 college/universities that offer wrestling.

Today, I'm checking out a wrestling club close to where I live..and I just got off the phone with one of the directors of the program and he seemed a bit worried that, I won't be able to hang with the wrestlers. He told me that the program was for those who were competing in HS wrestling. I do have some background in grappling. I do Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and compete in submission wrestling tournaments. Other then that, I have no knowledge about wrestling. I just hate the fact that I missed out on such a great sport. I hope this wrestling club will allow me to train with them and learn some technique. Also, I am quite fascinated with wrestling that I am attending a wrestling seminar. Nick Ugoulah will be the instructor and for $30 I think I will learn a lot. I wish I lived in America where this sport is very popular.

Do they have much in the way of high school sports in general in Canada? or are most things done with clubs?

Well sports done in HS are usually the typical sports. Basketball, Volleyball, Hockey.. etc.

The sports I'm interested in weren't available when I was in HS. Football, Wrestling...etc..

Usually things are done in clubs here.
