Arch, when I think of Waubonsie Valley, I can't help but think of the Quintanilla brothers. What a waste of talent! I believe that one of them is still in jail, and will be for a long, long time.

The other thing that's interesting about WV having that ranking from Wrestling USA is that WV is a relatively young high school. Has it been around more than 30 years?

Unfortunatley yes, one of them, (not mentioning names) is still in jail. It was a terrible tradgedy all around and he isn't going to come out anytime soon. All the brothers were impressive on the mat, and even with the exception (poor choice of words, "exception", but what else can one say. we all make mistakes, some worse than others), a great group of guys. I still run into them on occasion when I'm back in town.

They all came from the East side of Aurora and I hate to think what East High (go tomcats), would have been like had they not moved into Dist. 204.

WV has been around for longer than 30 years, but not a whole lot longer, It was started in the 70's and enjoyed a rather large growth spurt when that area grew. I graduated with something like over 1000 kids. At the time, it was a great option compared to East (some would consider it the rough side of town) and we got a lot of talent from both Aurora and Naperville, which lead to that ranking. Now the "place to be" is Nequa Valley (bastard naperville rich scum ) or Montini. You get either Reutiger and awesome facilities or the Bronco tradition.

Speaking of IL Highschools, were you at Mizzou when Brad Lynde was there? I always wondered what became of him.

I have close ties to both Bismarck schools (Century & Bismarck High).
But what Bismarck High has accomplished over the years is awesome!

48 year history (1960-2007)
* 28 State team titles and 7 straight State dual Champions (started in 2000)
* 13 runner up
* 7 3rd place
* Never have finished lower than 3rd!
* Held the National dual streak record (broken in late 80's) 176.
* 90's, Ranked #1 national a time or two, but usually a top ten ranking.

None of the above.

I wasn’t even close to D1 AA material.

I was a teammate of Cassidy in the late 80’s.

I’ve been an assistant coach and a volunteer assistant coach on and off here for the past 10+ years.

Steve’s nephew Matt wrestled for us and won a state title a few years ago. He also wrestled at Lehigh.

We don’t have many D1 wrestlers right now. Most of our wrestlers go to schools like Mercyhurst, Thiel, Washington & Jefferson.

And where might you be from Mr. goldengopher?
The power house dynasty Park Rapids?
Looks like your most prolific wrestler, Saf can't get past the ND kid???

Some more info for ya...Minnesota Christmas Tournament-ND team-5 team titles in 7 years, ZERO team titles for Park Rapids. Also, many of the MCT multiple champs have come from ND. I think ND can hold their own, no where near the depth of Minny, but still one of the best programs in the Midwest!
