Re: Graham Qualifies 8 for State Tournament
My nephew wrestles for Ross which is in the Goshen district. Graham has been in that district since forever. This year, the southwestern district decided to get rid of them by moving their sectional winners up north to the Marion Harding district. It worked out for the Goshen district because they had an easier way into the state. But for the kids in the other district, it sucks. The Tippecanoe sectional qualified 15 wrestlers for state from the Marion Harding District. That means a lot of kids who should have gone from that district didn't and kids from the Goshen district did. Goshen had the most 2 and out wrestlers last year even with Graham in the district. This year it will be worse. I was at the Goshen district watching my nephew and it was embarrassing to see some of the kids who qualified for state. This has come down to politics and the best kids aren't making it anymore.
Heck, I am a fan who was actually supposed to benefit from the move. But as a fan of the sport, it sucks. Heres an article of what all transpired to oust Graham from the district.
