I believe Dapper Dan results support my statements above. A team full of "Good" wrestlers from PA beats a team full of "Great" wrestlers from the USA. Hmmm.

And I do believe PA's underclassmen are even more potent.

I am also pretty sure that after being involved in wrestling for 15yrs inside PA's borders has taught me that anytime you step on the mat, it doesnt matter who you are, you better be ready to roll with the best. Ive seen the underdog win too many times to think different.

NJ teams are not in the habit of traveling out of state except for the Beast which is easy travel. A couple of teams show up annually at the Super 32. Phillipsburg has always ducked into the Lehigh Valley area of PA for a little action. This is the first year they went out to Reno and ended up stealing the title. A few others slip over the line for the Zepher Duals. High Point went to the Clash and had a good showing. I think we will start to see more teams other than Blair go out of state down the road.

NJ teams need to be careful because the state imposes compeition resetrictions on out of state bouts. High Point miscalcualted this year and was not allowed in the state team tournament because of it. They were pretty much the consensus No. 2 team in the state this year and likely would have won their group.

Too bad about High Point, I heard that news earlier this month. I really hope that it doesnt have an ill effect on NJ teams coming to PA for some events. I think NJ and PA have great match ups, and I personally would love to see the two states work together more.

However, I dont think PA or NJ teams need to travel out to these big national tournaments. Close ones are fine IMO Beast, Ironman. I wouldnt ever want to see PA/NJ teams traveling out west or to the midwest. The only reason to attend these tournaments would be to gain national exposure with the national rankers. I think keeping ourselves right here at home is the best thing for our states respective programs. Traveling out west and spending money to buy rankings is not going to get us any better than if we were wrestling each other... keep that money home and improve our own facilities and training centers. We already have the competition.

This is the first I can recall any Jersey team going further west than the Beast or Lehigh Valley.

Not true multiple teams went to Reno this year. Also Jackson has been to the Clash the last few years. We also have teams such as Camden Catholic and others journey south into Virginia.
