Thread: A Video of me Getting Bullied

Default A Video of me Getting Bullied

"Getting bullied" is the metaphor just getting out-classed in a wrestling match basically, just something I picked up from my coach. Anyhow, I faced the person ranked third in the states and got dominated. Now what could have I done different to have a closer bout, put up a better fight, and not get pinned? One thing I won't do again is switch off the whistle because that got me in a lot of trouble.

Oh and one more thing, the person that recorded my match missed about the first minute of the match I believe.

Not that I'm such a great wrestler myself but my advice is to stand up right when the whistle blows.

I tried hitting a switch off the whistle. Sometimes I will stand up off the whistle if I feel dominant off my feet but usually I would go for a reversal.

If you do it right, you won't get into trouble. You have to sit so that you have all your weight on what started as your outside hip, free your near arm, have your hips clear his body, and have your legs pointing at 4:00 o'clock.

You need to keep more pressure against his chest and be aware of his position above you. When you feel him trying to get separation you are opening yourself up to chin drops and other scoring.

You need to immediately be hitting a move. Beat him at the whistle. If you don't, start working for hand control.

Alternatively, if you know the guy is going to ride you well, just pick neutral.

That chin drop he gave you off the switch I have done to kids before, its cheap but sometimes it works for two. You need a stronger base when you are on bottom. I will give you credit as you fought off your back a few times in the video. Not sure what the hell you were doing at the start of the last period here with your tap dancing but he just bull rushed you, got you in double unders and took you over.

Did he lose a team point for taking his headgear off on the mat? (or is that not a national rule?)

What was that move at the end he did on you?

You are not allowed to throw your headgear or lower your shoulder straps on the mat. There's no rule against taking off your headgear after the final whistle.
