    Default Get better at ankle picks?

    so i was at my highschools Big 12 tournament yesterday, and i did pretty well.....i lost to my first guy (its happened before too,but he knows i could beat him if it werent for the little things),but my second and fourth guy,i used ankle picks on.....it worked perfectly on my second guy,i got teh takedown right away,then got the pin...but my fourth guy,i didnt do so well on the pick....i came into it and my hand scooped his calf instead (and it keeps doing that in practice)....so how do i make sure i always get it perfect,and are there some other picks i could do off the whistle/during the match,too?thanks

    You can also do the knee tap which is just like the ankle pick. You just pull the head over the knee like you would do over the ankle. Ask your coach to show you this move, has always worked well for me. Your better wrestlers are going to be harder to get with the ankle pic, so you have to make sure your technique is perfect. Take some time in practice and really go over your technique to make sure your not cutting any corners. Good luck

    this is a good and useful move to have in your wrestling arsenal. I like to do this from various set-ups. A good set up to use is doing it from a headlock(i like to grab his tricep of the arm opposite the arm i use while in the headlock). You can also do this from a russian tie(2 on 1). Another thing i like to do is when they go to post on my shoulder i grab their wrist with the opposite arm with which they reach with and i kinda throw it across to their other hip at the same time i change levels pick their ankle and drive.
