"I will say this: Taylor has wrestled a MUCH tougher schedule than Grajales has in high school."

You got that right. No other state has as much top-notch depth around 135 (although PA is a very close second).

We could argue for a long time about Taylor and Grajales, but there will never be any settling of it. Don't forget Taylor wrestled that match at 140, though. He was 112 all last year--that is a FIVE weight class jump and he is just now hitting puberty (seriously). The fact that he is physically able to hang after such growth in such a small time is a true testament to his skills and focus in training.

Hopefully they will wrestle over the summer--David says in his postmatch interview he wants to wrestle Eric and that if Grajales goes to Nationals, he will go too.

I saw it. Don't forget that Grajales wrestled Alton at 141 at a college tournament. I hope to see the match.

LOL, I always know when you come into one of these debates, it's to take the opposite side of me.

The only rankings service I can find with Taylor ranked 1st is one based out of Ohio, where Grajales started out first, but managed to move down in the rankings after winning a college wrestling tournament including a win over the # 1 kid one weight above his.

LoL, it only seems that way. Generally I agree with most of what you post. And BTW, that ranking is out of Oklahoma...

That's a good win for Grajales. If they wrestled today, Grajales might win--I really don't know and it could probably go either way; hopefully we will find out eventually. But I'm convinced that Taylor has the best technical skills in the country, and once he is physically developed, he will be the best there is.

It really doesn't make me that happy to say that. I don't like to think that he's better than some of my favorite wrestlers...

Apparently this is what happened the last time they wrestled though--4 years ago. If it's really them.

That's probably the same way it would go if it happened today. Taylor is just on another level. You guys will see.
