Thumbs Up! I need to cut 7-9 lbs(its a must!!!) in 11 days to make my target date.

if i dont achieve this goal i have to wrestle the next higher weight class, which will put my varsity spot at jeproady. i decided to eat nothing but steamed vegetables and lean steamed meats all day long with a protein shake at night. How muhc water do you think i can shed off(max) for weigh in? I weigh around 152 to 154, depending on the time of the day and i need to cut down to 145. pleaseeee any advice will be appreciated.

Thats not really hard cut, Veggies are good but.

    Breakfest:Oatmeal (any kind one packet)
    Lunch:Little apple
    Dinner: Small of something.

First of all, relax. It's not that much weight. As long as you are busting your butt in practice, eating bare minimum, you will make it no problem.

Make sure when you eat right after practice in the evening, and that's it. No late night food. Sleep in sweats and you'll lose a few pounds easy. Never take your mind off of your goal. I always felt that cutting weight is a great mental toughness teacher. Focus on your goals when you want to eat.

thats easy. The most ive ever cut was 11 pounds in 24 hours.

Eat light for now on. Dont cut food weight till 2 (3 if its a lot of weight) days before.
Dont cut water weight till 24 hours before.

If you have a feeling youll still be over with that then give yourself like 2 hours before you have to get ready to go and weigh in. In that time you should:

Spit as much as you can. Gum helps.
Go to the bathroom anytime you can get something out.
Sweat. You want to use as little energy as possible. So get a garbage bag, some sweats and some winter clothes. Then just go for a jog and stay as hot as you can. DO NOT overwork yourself.

    DO NOT:
Throw up. Harmful to your body.
Use laxatives. Brings all your water to your digestion so the rest of your body will be completely dehydrated.
Overwork yourself. Hurting yourself is worse than not making weight.

You shouldnt have to do any of this. Emergency only. Be proactive about your weight.

    While Painful, Its not hard

Does your Coach Crank up the heater during practice? I easily lose 2-4 lbs at practice wearing nothing but Under Armour and a shirt along with sweat pants because our coach puts the heater on

i eat lean protine and steamed vegetables for dinner every night, i hav a small bowl of cherios for breakfast and usually and apple for lunch, when u sleep sleep in a hoodie and sweat pants and if u have one put a heating pad on your chest while you sleep i can loose a pound in half an hour from doing that but it is a little hard to sleep while your body is that hot so get into bed a half hour before and wear the heating pad for half an hour then when u wanna sleep take it off and u can loose 2 to 4 more pounds in your sleep, i usually do this the two nights before my weigh in

you can make that easy. if your coach runs a tough practice and has the heater on, where a few layers to practice and you can lose 5+ lbs just at practice, after practice dont eat/drink and hit up the gym if you belong to one or just go for a nice long run outside with trash bag and lots of layers on. thatll kill about 2-3 lbs. and just sleeping you wou can lose 1-2lbs overnight depending on how much water you got in your body.

that technique has always worked for me, i usually cut 8 or so lbs the day before a match, mostly because of how badly my metabolism is screwed up.

also depending on when your match is you can lose weight the day of the match. if its a saturday match you can show up at the school a bit earlier check your weight, and if your a bit overweight run it off..1.5lbs only takes about 20-30 min to run off. and if you. and if its a weekday match you got plenty of time during school to lose weight. wear good amount of layers to school and you will float a pound off.

Works for me too...usually wear full long johns, UA ColdGear tights/mock, 2x full sweats & beanie the day before a match for practice. Add fleece gloves and another layer if you're running/workin' out!
