Watch the Best wrestlers in the country, state and WPIAL at the 37th Annual Dapper Dan Wrestling Classic on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at the University of Pittsburgh Fitzgerald Field House. The preliminary dual meet begins at 4:00 P.M and the feature PA versus USA match follows at 6:00 P.M.

The Wrestling Classic, dubbed ?The Rose Bowl of Wrestling?, is the most prestigious high school all-star wrestling meet in the United States.* This first class event recognizes high school seniors who?ve had stellar wrestling careers, offering them an exciting competition in an all-star dual meet format.

The Wrestling Classic consists of two dual meets.* The preliminary meet pits the best wrestlers from Western Pennsylvania or ?WPIAL? against state champions from another state.* The feature match showcases the best-of-the-best high school wrestlers from across the United States to challenge the reigning Pennsylvania State Champions.

Each year, approximately 3,500 enthusiastic spectators from the tri-state area watch the countries future NCAA, world and Olympic champions compete.** Proceeds from the Wrestling Classic benefit a youth wrestling program at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania through the Dapper Dan Youth Sports Leagues.* ~ NWCA

I'm not too surprised with the McCauley result...he hasn't been wrestling very well at all this year. I guess it finally caught up to him. But it doesn't affect my opinion that he'll be a stud in college.

Hodgkins over Dieringer and Shaffer over Stieber is big. Don't know what happened with Camp.

Hope Camp's Injury is nothing serious...

Impressive showing by PA. However Campolattano default hurt USA.

Hmm. I just read that McCauley weighed in ten pounds lighter than Ottinger, since he is preparing to wrestle in the Trials at 145.5. No validation to that rumor, but if it's true, it could have had some impact on the match.
