This past week, three of the nation?s top senior wrestlers have registered for the 22nd Annual High School Wrestling National Championship event. Earlier this week, Evan Silver (No. 2 @ 112) and Austin Ormsbee (No. 2 @ 135) both of Blair Academy (Blairstown, NJ) and Travis Himmelman (No. 9 @ 145)* from Conifer High School (Conifer, CO) have all registered to try and capture a National Championship title.
Evan Silver, is a 3-time National Prep Champion. Currently wrestling for Blair Academy, Silver also a championship in the Ironman, Bethlehem Holiday Classic, and the Maccabian Games. Silver is currently committed to Stanford where he will continue his wrestling career.
Austin Ormsbee, a teammate of Silver?s, is currently ranked #2 nationally at 135lbs. Ormsbee is currently committed to Oklahoma State and is a 3 time National Prep Champion and a 4 time Fargo National Champion.
Finally, Travis Himmelman from Conifer High School (Conifer, CO) registered to try and capture his second National Championship. Himmelman has competed in the event for the past three years and capture the NHSCA Freshman National Championship in 2008. Himmelman also made it into the finals of last years Junior Nationals before eventually being defeated by Nick Hodgkins 3-1 in overtime. He is also a 2 time Colorado state champion and has committed to Northern Colorado to continue his wrestling career.

A springboard to greatness? NHSCA National Championship Events have seen hundreds of its participants enjoy illustrious college careers.* Many NCAA champions and All-Americans and USA Olympians have competed in NHSCA National Championship Events when they were in high school. On average NHSCA Senior Nationals alumni make an average of 15 of the 20 NCAA Division I National Wrestling Championship finals appearances each year.* On average, they win an average of 8 of the 10 titles. 54 of the 80 2010 NCAA All Americans competed here when they were in high school. The 2010 High School Freshman Nationals produced some unbelievable talent that is sure to continue to make news at the high school level.

The top 8 place finishers in each weight class will officially be declared High School All-Americans.
