There?s a new No. 1 in Class 6A dual wrestling ratings. In fact, there?s a new No. 1 in all four classes.

Mother Nature. She whipped them all this week. From the time that the skies opened late Monday night with more than a foot of snow in many areas, and then record cold set in, until another band of snow hit Friday, schools were closed and almost all activities cancelled or postponed. And she may not be through.

The worst winter storm in Oklahoma history wiped out an entire week of wrestling matches ? as well as basketball, swimming and all other activities ? as schools tried to make final preparations for Dual State (Feb. 11-12) and regionals (Feb. 18-19).

And the storm repercussions have reached as far as those regionals, as a flooded gym at Bixby has caused the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association to go scurrying for another host site for the Class 6A East meet.

Broken Arrow, which this week took over the No. 1 spot in the 6A dual ratings, won?t worry much about where that East regional will be held. The Tigers are being sent west to Del City. The move was designed to balance out the power a bit between east and west, as the top four teams throughout the season have been from the east. The door to the top for the Tigers was opened by Sapulpa, which shocked previously unbeaten and No. 1 Union last week, 42-28. The following night BA rolled over the Chieftains on the Sapulpa mat.
