One thing my coach taught me was to just stay in a cross body position, and to make your main goal is to maintain height on your opponent. He also taught me to use my free to push the far leg out, which for me, seems to help me stay up on top, and also breaks your opponent down.

But pushing his other leg out, I mean, you step in between his legs and by his opposite ankle (of the leg you're not riding), put your free foot in it and just push it away, it will break him down a lot of the time and if not it hurts lol

great way to break down and get back points is wen ur cross body riding and he is at his base you (with your leg that isnt in) high leg back, then high leg ovr to the other side of his body again while crossfacing, it breaks him down and gives u back point because u hold the crossface, lock ur ankels, knees as far apart as possible, hips in hard, and arch ur back to pull his head to his butt, if u do it right it hurts like a B and get u the 5 count (if u get lucky he will try to turn into u to get back to his belly in which case u just keep the head get perpindicular and pin), and after u do the move, u let him go and do it again to get ur point, easy way to tech fault if u can pull the move off repeatedly

If you send me a private message with an email address, I'll email you (or anyone) an outline of my crossbody ride clinic.

Thanks for the help already posted. I have a question about near falls:
If you do the same one over and over you only get 1 3pt near fall in high school folkstyle correct? ie: Half...half....half even if you let them up is only = 3 points.

Other thing is what are the basic moves other than this:

    Power Half
    Crossface to Back points
    Guillotine
Reverse Guillotine (Don't know exact name for it.)
    Ball+Chain
    etc.
Please let me know some more.

If you keep the same pinning combination without breaking the hold, you can only get one set of back points (2 or 3). This would be like a cradle where you put your opponent on his back, then roll him off it, then roll him back on his back, all with the same cradle. Even if you change it to something else while your opponent is still in criteria (on his back) and has not recovered, it's just one set of points. If he recovers off his back and you break the hold, you can use the same one again for more points.

actually tho, wen u throw a leg and then pull and move and get back points, u can let the move go and keep the leg and keep doing it to get the back points because unlike the cradle they consider u ontop with a leg in a defensable position

Having a leg in is a ride, not a pinning hold. Some refs will wait until the leg is out before considering any additional back points, but that's an incorrect interpretation of the rule. If you have a leg or both legs in and are unable to turn your opponent, most refs will tell you to try something else and will eventually call you for stalliing if you keep putting the leg in or don't take it out, and aren't getting back points.
