I could use your help...

A woman wrote to me, asking if there is a biography of Simon Roberts, the first African-American college wrestling champ. I told her, none that I was aware of.

She's tutoring a wrestler who happens to be African-American, and was seeking a story that would speak to him about overcoming adversity. I suggested a couple books, such as "A Distant Flame" about 1930s Oklahoma State champ/Olympic gold medalist Jack VanBebber, and "Toughest Men in Sports" by Mike Chapman which provides biographies on wrestlers and boxers (Gable, Hodge, Baughman, Ali, Duran, etc.)

Do you have any suggestions I could pass along to this tutor?

Thanks in advance,
