    Default How do I get faster on my feet?

    I do sprints and that is about it?

    What else should I be doing?

    Can someone list something really quick, if possible, because i'm about to go train in the gym...but if not then anyone that replies...thank you

    As far as I know, speed on the mat is more quickness then actual explosive speed. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. The things that help quickness that I know (from coaches, books, etc etc) are:

    Jump Rope w/varying footwork
    Shadow/Motion wrestling
    Ladder drills

    I think conditioning in general has a lot to do with quickness as well. Just my presumptions though.

    This answer applies to a lot of wrestling situations, especially quickness on your feet.

    Keep your head up, bend your knees, change elevation when you shoot.

    I'm doing the jump-rope but what are shadow w/ motion, and ladder drills?

    And I am always constantly working on how fast I change my level and the quality of my shoot as well as speed.

    But I'm looking for explosive exercises too. The only one I know of is jumping pushups, clapping pushups, and squat jumps. Anything else that will help with my explosiveness?
