What is a scrimage?

I apologize for my ignorance. :o What is a "scrimage"?

Wrestling with another team before the season begins. It mean informal bouts for working on technique or it may be run just like a meet, but the bouts do not count on you record.

Yeah all it is is a match before the season begins. It doesn't count against or for your record. You don't even weigh in sometimes...my scrimage was this saturday and I cut 5 lbs and didn't know we didn't have to weigh in lol......but yeah and the rounds were 1 minute, 1 minute, 2 minutes....so short.
