Default 1st match of the year results

171, went against a rookie. I'm a 4 year experienced wrestler. Anyways, I cut 5 lbs the night before for this match and we didn't even weight in? Wth? I just found out it was a scrimage. Either way, the match starts, and this dude has long legs and I kept faking him out but for some reason didn't slide under. 2nd round I was referees position, stood up, got an escape, and took him down. Anyways, 3 rounds were up, I won 8-0....BUT THE MATCH WAS SO SLOW. I did absolutely nothing! I didn't even move. It's so not like me. My friends told me I won but I didn't do a thing, I myself wasn't even breathing hard by the end. Anyways, time to get serious since I want to make it to state this year, got to train hard, but I think it's because of the 3 hour wait I had that made me a little sleepy. WHat do you think and suggest for this not to happen next time since I am going up against some top notch opponents? Thanks. Peace.

if the problem is just long waits between weight ins and wrestling i suggest some kind of energy. (energy drinks..energy shots...) just a thought.

Energy drinks are not good for you. You will crash even harder than before you had the drink. I know a wrestler I coached was having heart problems directly associated with drinking those types of drinks.
I will smash your face into a car windshield and then take your mother, Dorothy Mantooth, out to a nice seafood dinner and never call her again!

Tell me about it, this morning, I woke up and I shit a squirrel, but what I can't get is the damn thing is still alive. So now, I've got a shit covered squirrel running around my office and I don't know what to name it.

I agree with Champ those drinks are just bad news. Eat a bagel it is good energy food or some fruit and fruit juice.

I am a third adult chiming in with "stay away from energy drinks". A middle school kid that I know was hospitalized due to drinking energy drinks. He was a normal 14 year old (a football player) who had heart palpitations from these drinks. Eat real food for energy.

I don't have this issue. I just watch the matches while I'm waiting for my turn on the mat. I pick their techniques apart, trying to remember how they did things when it is really effective and correcting them in my mind when they screw up. I'm already pumped up at the beginning of the day anyway and this seems to keep me pumped up and full of energy.
