We have not had this problem in the past. My son has always been much lower than the weight limit for his weight class. This year he is going at 112 and he weighs right around 112 when he wakes up in the morning. I think he was 111 this morning. He has been able to get to 112 by improving his diet. He has not skipped any meals, nor has he done anything crazy.
Tomorrow he has a dual meet (preseason) in the afternoon. Does anyone have any tips on what he can do to make sure he can make weight in the afternoon? I don't want him playing games with hydration, nor do I want him to starve himself all day (he had to function in school). What do other wrestlers do when they are close to their weight limit and have an afternoon weigh in?
