We don't have block scheduling, we have one more period during the school day than public schools. That allows kids like my son to take 5 academic classes, 1 elective (he's in band) and still have an independent.

I wouldn't drop any hard classes. Just try to be really vigilant about doing work whenever you have some down time. If you have 15 minutes and you can get a few math problems done, do it instead of wasting time. You can get some work done on the bus going to and from tournaments.

I am sure you realize that being a good student should be your number one priority.

Hey, this is also my first year of wrestling. however we did conditioning 2 weeks before the actual season which really wore me out the first time(same as the first actual practice) and have gotten a lot stronger since. we have only had 4 days of actually practice 1 on which I couldn't attend due to a cracked rib which I will hopefully attend tomorow and our practices run about 3 1/2 hours which is a very long time! we usually run a mile and then sprints which is followed by various weight lifting. It is a very hard sport so keep it up which i will hopefully do the same !

Thanks for the info. The only part that really intimidates me is the running. I don't want to be cut off because of my speed. I can run a mile under 10 minutes now so hopefully we won't have to go above, although I know they go up to 2 miles and even 5.

Hope your rib feels better! I have a small discomfort in my wrist so hopefully that won't affect me too much during pushups...
