why would you? does it make you look cool like Allen Iverson? you're only giving your opponent a better grip on your arm by wearing that. also you should spell check next time, aloud and allowed means way different things.

Disease prevention should be an obvious reason one would want to wear them.

I don't think they are allowed in competition (don't know for sure but I've been around wrestling for 20+ years and can't remember seeing it once in a match - it might just be very uncommon), but you can definitely wear those or long sleeve shirts in practice (where a lot of the mat diseases are contracted). In competition the referee should be performing a skin check - not a guarantee of safety, but a little peace of mind.

And I wouldn't think the sleeves would give *better* grip to the opponent anyway- I'd imagine it would be quite the opposite once you had built up a sweat. I know the leg variety were slippery, can't imagine how the sleeves wouldn't be.

... And... while I wouldn't make a habit of correcting someone's spelling, you should strive to be perfect in everything you do. Just like in wrestling, you can learn from your spelling mistakes and get smarter in the process. If you guys were 40 I'd be a little concerned but being that you're not you've got some time to perfect the spelling.

Anywho.. don't let criticism stop you from asking questions - it not only helps you but everyone else searching for similar information in the future.

I was going to comment on that, but Schlottke said it better than I would have. If you allow yourself to be lazy and slipshod in your writing, it will spread to other areas of your life. You don't have to be obsessive (like me) but you should take pride in everything you do, including how you present yourself in an online forum.
