Default The Clash 2008 National High School Wrestling Duals Results, Brackets, Information

This is a great tournament. I've been the last two years and contrary to popular belief ... it wasn't too cold in Minnesota at that particular time of year.

Glad to see Don Bosco in the mix this year. I remember the IHSAA not letting Bosco leave the state years ago. Wonder what changed? Kettman must have some pull.

Just changed this year, shopping, which was long overdue. The Clash moved the date to after Jan. 1 so the tournament is no longer in the holiday season. IHSAA was ok with crossing state borders as long as it wasn't during the holidays when competition takes a break. Good opportunity for WSR, Bosco and Ballard to meet some of the best competition in the country. I'll be there.

I am sure that Brandon, FL won't show although they have more to prove as a dual team than any other team in the nation. It is so frustrating to live 20 miles from this town that does nothing but gloat over their dual meet record. They wrestle nobody and the talent they have run up to the D1 level is still largely unproven to date. What say you Brandon?

I thought I read on another forum that the coach from Brandon didn't want to lose his dual meet record to a non FL team. I could be wrong but if that ever happens we may see them at the Clash.

That is what he told our representative. Once their win streak is broken at home, they would like to be invited to the Clash

I remember reading that too. It was given as a reason why Brandon chose not to dual Easton, PA when they were down there a couple of years ago. Man, do the Brandon threads on the other place get nasty about this whole streak thing.

Too bad Ohio has that rule about only one event in a non-contiguous state per season. Most of the top teams go to the beast for their one. I'd love to see how Eds, Graham, Moeller and some others would do against some of the teams west of here in states they don't face at Ironman or Beast. Heck of a line-up there. Wish I could go. Dual tourneys are my personal favorite as a spectator when I don't have a horse in the field.
