Default What are the best takedown moves for a beginner.

Hi guys. I'm new here and i started wrestling this year. Preseason started at my school so im going everyday after school from 3-5. I was wondering what moves i should focus on. I am working on my penetration step, and have learned the single leg, high crotch, and double leg. What are some other moves that i should learn? I am a sophomore and 5'9 130lbs.

Also what are some good things to do once my opponent shoots in and i sprawl?
    Cheers.

I just stick with the low single and ankle picks. High crotches, double legs, slide-by's, lateral drops, and duck unders are also in my arsenal.

When I sprawl I just push their head down, control an arm and circle across that side and get my 2. Sometimes I'll get a front headlock and maybe work for a near-side cradle or throw by(I think that's what it's called. Don't remember the term)

Check out our technique video library and try some of the stuff you run across.

Duck unders are fun, one of my favorite take downs.

When they shoot, I do drag and peek outs. Look up John Smith Scoring From Scrambling Positions on YouTube, shows a few demons of how he does it.
