Any chance of Massa and McCauley being at the same weight? I know Massa has been up at 160, but is there a chance he gets down to 152?

With McCauley going 66kg for Fila JRs I couldn't see him going up to 160 to meet Massa so its probably wishful thinking, but it'd be a fun one to see I think

Good question. I've seen other people ask the same question, so there's probably a chance. I would take McCauley.

I would too. I think we'll see McCauley at 152 and Massa up at 160 though.

What big match ups are inevitable?

Morgan McIntosh vs. Lee Munster is one matchup worth looking out for.

I don't know much about matchups right now because none of the participants are listed yet, but I'm looking forward to seeing Jered Cortez make a splash as a Cadet lightweight (thought he already did that, losing to Nick Roberts in the finals). Cortez is one of the nation's best freshmen, used to wrestle for Graham, but transferred to boarding school Marmion Academy in Illinois.

If Nick Sulzer wrestles I look for him to win it all, possibly with a chance to avenge his recent loss (by pin) to Jahwon Akui.

Other Ohio guys to watch: Johnni Dijulius, Hunter Stieber (but I hear he's not currently signed up).

Two more high profile Ohio entrants are Josh Demas at 171 and Ian Miller at 160. Demas seems well-suited to freestyle as demonstrated by his nuetral position demolition of Sam Wheeler in the state 171 finals. A lot of folks besides me jumped on the Ian Miller bandwagon when he took Chris Villalonga into overtime in the Ironman finals. He has been undefeated since (I think) including the recently concluded junior duals. Ohioans are happy with Demas TOSU bound and Miller headed for Kent State.

Three other guys I'll be watching are Nate Skonieczny at 135, Matt VanCurran at 145 (time for this man to show something), and my darkhorse, Mark Martin at 152.

Excellent points, Steve. It was imprudent of me to leave out Demas and Miller (and Skonieczny).

I've heard that Matt VanCurran is one of the best wrestlers in the St. Ed practice room, but he just can't translate that into success in competition.

From the Jethro Gibbs rules of conduct list (not sure which number it is):

    Never admit to being imprudent.

Demas is another wrestler whose only loss came in the Ironman (one of many over the past decade), yet he was soundly beaten in that loss by Sulzer, who he split with the prior year. It will be very interesting.

Kindig v. Ness, and Massa v. Moore are some BAD looking match ups.

What's the age limit? I would have thought Ness was too old.
