I've seen a lot of guys become more aggressive as they become more confident. Work on your technique, strength, and conditioning to build your confidence and I think that you'll see yourself becoming more aggressive.

I would also suggest you make a point of practicing in that style, even if it is just for a couple of drills a day to start with, force yourself to be aggressive in practice and it will translate to the mat.

You have to really want to win and hate to lose. Then, just keep thinking that that guy across the mat wants to steal your victory from you and make you a loser. But after the match is over, all of that goes away and win or lose, he's just another wrestler just like you and your teammates.

IMHO, if you are waiting to counter then you are probably thinking too much. Just shake hands, listen for the whistle and wrestle. Go for your moves and make him counter you.

thats the best thing to do honestly,if u go into the match feeling like you just wanna be a total asshole to the guy, youll find youre more aggressive..but thats not to say dont think while youre out there,too...stay focused, but get the mentality you just want to break this guy
