Thread: National High School Wrestling Individual Rankings

Boy, I wouldn't do official rankings for love or money. There's one guy over on the other forum who is going crazy over Cox and Mango's rankings.
Bob Preusse patiently lays out his rationale for the top five at 119 and the guy just won't let it go.

He makes false accusations ("You admit that he should be higher", which BP didn't say) and then ends up with an insult about BP having some kind of grudge against Wyoming wrestlers and challenges him to prove him wrong!

    Amazing.

BTW, I don't dare post this over there.

    G&P,

That wasn't AWN rankings of course. Had to be WIN or Intermat I guess. I may have been in a sort of "troll" mode if I defended those rankings against all reason. Ohioans had reasons to be excited about some great lightweights, but I wouldn't include Mitcheff and Sergent in that category. I may have included Robinson and Ty Mitch in the conversation just to further "tweak" it.

In fact top PA wrestlers are perilous to face as both Palmer brothers can tell you based on Ironman matches. If I wasn't reasonable in that discussion, I apologize.

I don't care for hs rankings either, particularly when greco and freestyle results are used in folkstyle rankings.

I don't put much stock in any rankings that reach beyond the regional level.

Ty Mitch no love at 112, has beaten both Carter and Cooper in two periods at FILA National and finished 4th at Fargo after a tough loss to Brewer in the Semi's at 105, ranked by WIN and Wrestling USA but not by AWN? Kid is D1 solid recruit in Jr. Class.

Couldn't help not seeing Roach's name there either .

Yeah, I usually don't complain too much about other people's opinions since they are really just that.

Very surprised though to see Thorn ahead of Mango from what I have heard about little Mango. I guess Thorn gets the nod a little since he has been on the National Scene a little bit longer. Both have great pedigrees.

Hmmm.... Kevin Steinhaus from KMS, MN is not on the list @ 152/160.

I'm guessing he will be by the end of the season.
