I wrestle with contacts. there´s nothing you need to worry about. As ODH said, they might pop out once in a while, especially in par terre. Just remember that they usually stay sticked to your face rather than droping to the mat.

Just keep in mind that when you lose one they can be hard to find on teh mat and the ref isn't going to let you look for very long. Most kids just hand it to the coach when it pops out and move on with the bout.

These are the googles my son wears. They are called Rec-Specs. They are specifically made for sports. The lenses pop out not in to protect the face. His lenses have never popped out yet. Also Spider, the grabbing and pawing at them occurs more often, regardless of the referees ability.

I know that here in Connecticut most referees would not allow any grabbing of the goggles. While we may not have the best high school wrestling in America, our officials are as good as any I've seen anywhere.

How bad is your vision?

I know a lot of kids who don't wear their contacts during a match.

The main disadvantage of wrestling wihtout corrective lenses in the inability to see the score or the amount of time left.
I wrestled like that in HS and often was wrong about what I thought the score was.

Its happened to my a couple times, just signal injury time at say you lost your contact, they usually stop the match for you, but make sure to keep wrestlin in case they don't

My daughter wore contacts to wrestle. I got in the habit of keeping a contact case and a small bottle of solution in my pocket. When a contact gets knocked out, I pull out the case, squirt a bit of solution into it, and in goes the contact. It usually took about 20 - 30 seconds and she was ready to wrestle.
I still keep the case and solution for the wrestlers on my team who lose a contact.
