First once you get the hook you need to elevate it and keep your head on the side of your under hook. When I work the under hook I like to work a progression of moves to set up a certain move. I might faint a knee tap to set up a high crotch or snatch single. I never work just the one take down from that position because many people will learn and defend it. In order to pick up those singles or knee taps I always tell my kids to pretend like they are throwing a shot put with the under hook arm, this does two things 1 for snatch single it elevates the near leg slightly allowing you drop slightly and pick it up 2 it puts weight on the far leg for the knee tap and you can see how working multiple attacks from this would lead to better percentage of take down.
I hope this helps more than it confuses.
