Default Over-tie

I was wrestling the other day and when ever i went to collar tie this guy he would collar tie me back on the same side over my collar tie i heard that this is called an over-tie. Why and how is this used and how do i counter it.

I don't like the overtie as much because I feel like it leaves that side very vulnerable. You should be able to shoot a single on that side with some good motion.

i don't like the collar tie at all, it limits what you can do b/c if a collar tie is done properly it puts you wrist deep behind his neck. what the other guy is most likely doing with the over tie or stiener tie is freezing your collar tie so it'll allow him to direct your position if you get off your tie or if you actually decided to try to attack his legs. i've seen too many wrestler do an over tie or stiener tie and don't know what to do. as for a counter it's easy get in good position and don't collar tie, any good wrestler on the high school level will kill you're collar tie.

I Wrestle Like A HeavyWeight At 130s well thats what my coach tells me because right when the ref blows the whistle i go straight to the clinch and start shucking them down the best way to counter an overtie is to through an over tie over there over tie and repeat the process untill you can maintain controll if they get to into it shoot for a double remember though if your gunna wrestle in really close you need to get good and double legs sprawls and control if you master that and get monster grip youll be very hard to beat in the clinch game that wrestling offers like i said i dont wrestle from the out side i always have my opponets head so if yor going to wrestle like this you cant be lazy with it you have to have dominace when you slap on the collar tie squeeze his head smash your wrist into his head when you throw it on you need to be assertive and if the start driving at you shuck them down and pin them or get your 2 points
