Thread: Losing wrestling room

    Default Losing wrestling room

I was informed that this will be the last year we get use our room. It will become the new weight room. They want to move us out into one of the gyms. My question is to you people who have to set up mats before practice how long does it take you and what other problems are you having? There may be hope in fighting this still.

We got moved out of our room last year since baseball needed to use their indoor nets instead of their outdoor nets for some odd reason. we eneded up setting up our mats in the weight room... (yeah safe). Also we have set up our mats in the condemned community center before because of the same reason.

In high school we had to set up our mats every day. We shared the mezzanine with all of the PE classes. It didn't take us very long at all. We stacked them up flat and had one large slab that was really old on top so that our good mats wouldn't get damaged.

The only real problem was that occasionaly during practice the slabs would separate leaving gaps. If you know this happens and keep an eye out for it then it's not really a problem.

Depends on how far away your mats are, and how many kids you have to help. You have to mop them after you roll them out too..

    Probably 15 or so.
To avoid criticism say nothing, do nothing, be nothing.

Do you mop the mats before practice and if not do you have more problems with skin conditions?

We mopped them every day. We bought a new garden sprayer and sprayed the mats, let it sit for a minute then dried them off with towels.

We got kicked out of our wrestling around 4 years ago, and until just last year we had to roll our mat every practice and the managers mopped it. It was actually good practice for preparing mats for our tournament that year, and id like to think we got a decent warm up

We mop our mats every day before we practice. No skin conditions that I know of.
