Default Weight Cutting

Hey guys, I've been curious about this lately. What is considered bad weight cutting (I know all forms of it is bad). What is too much?

I weigh 118 and have BF of 8%, what is too much in my case??

you could probably make 112 in a healthy way. Start now and do it slow, save yourself the trouble during the season.

Is it possible to lose 6 pounds without losing muscle? I was 8% BF last season, this summer and preseason conditioning kicked up a notch so I'm sure I'm lower then that.

I think it's bad if you go lower than 6%. Just stay at 119 and wrestle there. You'll have all your energy and stuff.

usually to be a good wrestler u need to cut some weight.. but at 8% i think you would be competitive at 119.

Stay at 119. Cutting to 112 and then trying to maintain that weight all season will be hell.

Have you been working out/trying to lose weight at all? If you haven't, a lot will come of naturally with healthy dieting and a good work out regimen.

Yes, I workout through summer and preseason. I have circuit and conditioning monday and wendsday and wrestling pratice tuesday and thursday. I always eat healthy and have recently split 3 meals to 5 meals a day. Despite this, my weight won't budge.

Hey guys, thanks for the advice. I talked to my coach about this as well.

I figured I'de just go 119, if there is a tournament that gives weight allowance that is in my comfortable field then I'll cut down to attend that one, but other then that I'll try and be healthy and strong at my weight.
