Again, it is just hearsay. Keep in mind anybody can register on the so-called russian forum under any name. Many of those guys can very well be anti-Russia and from other former Soviet Republics.

Also, keep in mind many russian wrestlers go to Junior worlds at 18 years old and if you say they are actually 2 years older, they are still eligible. Why would they say they are 18 and not 20 when they can compete at 20 at Juniors as well?

Also, what is stopping other countries' wrestlers from changing their passports? Are Iran, Cuba, Georgia and Bulgaria completely honest?

Tsargush won Russian senior Nationals at 19 and Otarsultanov competed at Europeans senior level at 19. Why would they do that if they faked their age to compete in Juniors?

Big, you make me open my secret files

This is a part from an email of an international wrestler (with a fake age), from early 2004, a few months after the 2003 jr. worlds.
XXX and YYY are well-known wrestlers (a few month later, one of them medaled at the 2004 Olympics).

We are talking about YYY, who became jr. world champ in 2003. According the fila database, he was 20 at that time. According to his friend (the author of the email), he was 25.

You can translate this text (or at least the sentence in bold) for the others.

This sentence explains why they do this: “for the records”. As you know, a gold medal (and it is easier when you wrestle opponents who are 2-3-4-5 years younger) gives them better chances in life (business, politics) because unlike in other countries/regions, in North Caucasus a gold medal in wrestling is a matter of a high social prestige, which can easily be converted in political or economic power.

Насчет возроста XXX или YYY то я мог бы тебе сказать что я 1984 года рождения так как соответствующие документы у меня есть но смыл скрывать от тебя свой возраст не видел [in his previous mail he told me he was 22, that means he was born in 1982, not in 1984 as written in his documets].

    Akzent,

Russian Juniors beat not only other Juniors but other seniors as well. Example, Tsargush, Otarsultanov, Batirov, Saitiev and others all won Worlds, Olympics or other important toruneys at age 19-20 as listed in the database.

They don't need to fake their age to win. They are just that good. Also, keep in mind Caucas Juniors compete for many other countries besides Russia.

I doubt Shamil Dibirov, who placed 2nd at 96 in freestyle, is Ukrainian.

I don't care what they won. All I wanted to say was: what is "listed in the database" is not true. You obviously have some BIG perception problems.
