Askren better not forget about Aldatov.... that would be a huge mistake
Askren is truly a student of the sport. He has been studying videotape like a crazy person, and is overlooking no one.
He specifically referenced Saitiev (who he noted as his 2nd favorite wrestler ever, and expressed a wish that he could get some extended training in with him), Mavlet Batirov, Farniev, and Dudaev as guys he watches and admires.
At least he's not arrogant at all.
"Now class, I'd like for you to transition from downward dog....straight to FULL BRING!!!"
I think it's just fine... of course I wore a shirt before a match that said, "It ain't braggin' if you back it up" after telling everyone on a forum I'd beat the kid.... I probably regret doing that, but it's a funny shirt at least.. lol
I used to dislike Askren strictly due to the mop top but the more I watch him and listen to him and read his blogs this guy is a breath of fresh air and he should be our olympic champion with all the US behind him
