Well Iam sure that Karam Is going for gold in Bejing. Is Hamza wrestling in Bejing btw?

And the most important thing in Karam is that he is well known superstar in greco-roman wrestling, and will sure bring new fans to the sport like Karelin did. Karam is among the few who is trying to do throws in stand up wrestling.

That I agree with. Karem Gaber (under the old rules, at least) was awesome to watch. Certainly one of the most entertaining wrestlers I've ever seen.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=exLD5rQa3mo rematch with the guy who beats him in Akzent's clip. He actually has in opponent in pinning position and then picks him up and throws him from his own back.

that match in the 04 finals was crazy. the georgian ran into the worst luck i've seen. most of the calls could have went either way except the stupid stand up attempt.

Are you referring to the Olympic final posted above? When I looked at it, I saw a very one-sided thrashing. No luck; Gaber was just that much better on that day.

it just seemed like a lot of things went against nozadze. i'd watch it again.

the georgian scored first and got a pretty good lift and took gaber to the edge of the mat before his throw attempt. that way he wouldn't give up any points if it didn't work. some how the refs scored points for gaber even though his foot landed off of the wrestling surface. gaber should have never been on top.

then gaber is on top and nozadze tried to stand up, a bad idea, and gaber scored, no luck there. but then gaber got three attempts on top before he score his next lift, another legit score. but it was bad luck for nozadze that he was down for three attempts.

back to their feet with no action. the second period starts and gaber scores from double overs and the georgian may not have exposed. i'm not saying he didn't, but is was close.

i'm a big gaber fan, i love how he gets after it and was hoping he'd win in 04. but i've seen and been a part of matches like this. one thing goes wrong and the it just snowballs.

I personally think the first and last actions you mention were scored correctly, but I can see how you could score them differently. I do agree that Gaber got a lot of time to work on top. Perhaps if Georgia didn't throw to his own back it would have been a much different match? I don't know. I think Gaber was just too good for everyone on that day.
