BTW Akzent that match you linked to was great. Is the Georgian a World Champ? Great thrower but seems like he's not a big fan of gut wrench defense.

Yes, in 2003 at 66 kg.
    Comparison:
    Kvirkvelia medaling at worlds: 2002 & 2006 3rd, 2003 1st; at euros: 2002 2nd, 2006 3rd, 2007 1st.
    His Russian opponent Samurgashev at worlds/olympics 2000, 2002 & 2005 1st, 2004 3rd; at euros 2000 and 2006 1st, 2002 2nd.
They met in the semis of the 2006 euros where Samurgashev pinned Kvirkvelia a few seconds before the end of the match after having a 11:4 lead (5:0, 1:2, 5:2)!

Obviously. Watch him vs. the Azeri Abdulov in the finals:

(Don't stop the tape at the point where it is damaged because your will miss the pin at the end.)

They didn't qualify their weights. Both got knock out by Ukrainians.

Akzent as always thank you for the Matches.

This match was awesome. I was amazed by that second period. then to see the end like that. Wow.

*Quick, A while back you posted a series of MAtches from some Greco wrestler. I ask you this all the time so I should know already.

Was that Georgian the same guy?

    THanks,

    Mike
