Man, if FILA listened to American wishes wrestling would be a vastly different sport today. Seems Americans (at least on message boards) disagree with almst every decision FILA has made ever since I've been wrestling. (For what it's worth I'm not a big fan of FILA either.)

You kidding right? Do you think "American wishes" means a small group of wrestling fans? They listen to credit card companies and such that advertise their stuff during Olympics. Having housewives watch a North Korean win in Atlanta was bad business, not to mention a letdown for anti-communist propaganda.

I don't think credit card companies- or "housewives" know or care who won 48 kg gold in wrestling. I think the loss of the smallest weight classes has to do with the overall decrease in number of weight classes. But I don't really care enough to argue about it (any more than I have already). I'm here for the videos
