It sounds like they're sending Gallick to Poland to try and qualify the weight for Olympics.
Well, that would be three tournaments in three weekends, two of them in Europe, for my man. That makes sense.
Mmmmm maybe it's because he can't qualify the spot?
In Zadick's defense he lost to all world medalists when he failed to qualify. Which World medalists has Gallick beaten after they won medals?
Zadick lost to Prizreni (3rd last year), Sissauri (champ in 01), and Mohammadi (champ in 06). They were all close matches too.
Prizreni and Mohammadi I can see losing to, but Sissauri is over the hill. When was the last time that he medaled? Zadick has had his chances, let Gallick have a shot. He wrestles a more patient style than Zadick, fewer mistakes. I believe he gives us a better shot at qualifying.
Sissauri may be a bit over the hill but I he is always dangerous. Granted Zadick is a silver medalsit but I do think Gallick a better choice at this point.
sissouri is looking better than ive seen him in a long time. Trust me he can definetly pull an upset like he did in 04 olympics beating out the russian. He is a 5 time world medalist so that defiently counts for some consistency. Anyways, i think zadick should try to qualify, he has a way better chance than gallick who is much more inexperienced on the world level. I think its a big mistake sending gallick.
I'm sure that fatigue is also figuring in the coach's decision to send Gallick. Zadick wrestled a tournament in Switzerland last weekend, is wrestling one in Vegas this weekend, and then he would have another one in Poland next weekend - that's a lot to ask of any wrestler.
