I remeber he made that guy (Olympic Silver Medalisst) look terrible.
From what I saw he was the most dominant Olypic Gold Medalist, his results since then have been inconsistant.
I guess you missed the Abas-Batirov match. And no that was Jokar.

Iranians are just not physical enough to compete with Cubans. They are total opposite physique-wise. Iranians are like Asians with lanky bodies and good technique. Cubans are very physical and also have good technique. The Russians beat the Cubans because they have excellent technique but also pretty good physique.

That was a stupid assessement Big. First of all Mohammadi has beaten Quintana before. As for them being lanky bodied, sure Dadashi and Mohammadi are kind of lanky but not much more than most people at that weight. Bazri, Yazdani, Ebrahimi, Mousumi lanky? I guess you forgot what Satiev's body type is too. Sorry Big, communism isn't the answer to everything. I guess all those Iranians that beat Cubans just got lucky.

Americans have good physiques and usually poor technique or one-dimensional if you will but they still win sometimes whenever they can master some strategy.

    Yazdani,

Sure Yazdani has a decent physique but nothing like Romero. Masoumi and Ebrahimi have good physiques too but nothing like Rodriguez.

Iranians are great wrestlers but their technique is not always perfect. Bazri got tooled by Aldatov in 06 Ibelieve. Yazdani got tooled by Ketoev last year at the World Cup and Moradi this year got tooled by Gogshelidze in Kiev I believe.

    Big,

No Yazdani doesn't have a physique like Romero but I'll wager he just as strong if not stronger than Romero. Romero looks loke a bodybuilder. This doesn't mean he is more powerful. Yazdani is extremely solid and compact.

Its the same with Masoumi and Rodriguez. First of all Rodriguez has a gut which Masoumi doesn't. Second yeah Rodriquez has sculpted arms but Masoumi has legs like tree trunks. So whos more powerful? As for Ebrahimi yes he is a little bottom heavy, but he did keep it tight with Gastalov in the finals. Oh yeah, do you remember Heidari? Was he lanky?

Yes, Bazri got schooled. No ands, ifs, buts. I do think he is undersized a bit for 74kg. Though he just lost to Tigiev he did beat him in the 07' asian games.
Yazdani got schooled by Ketoev, yes. But it has been close since. Wasn't you who posted that he said Yazdani was his hardest match at worlds? And incase you didn't notice Ketoev has schooled a lot of people.

Don't get me wrong Big, I agree Iranians stress technique over all else. But to say they can't compete with Cubans and only Russians can beat them is ridicules. Fundora was bigger than Hajizadeh the year Haji won Worlds too.

    Yeah,
I did not see Abas-Baritov match. If it was televised I missed it.
I also heard that Abas tore his knee ligament that match.

I don't want to pretend to be an expert, but it is silly to stereotype a whole nation's wrestlers.
Cael did not have the most impressive physique nor was he freestyle strategy the best. He was simply the best wrestler.
Cormier is another guy that might be strong but does not have a chisled bodybuilder physique.

I don't think I was very clear. Yes many Iranians can compete with Russians and Cubans. I meant to say when they lose to Cubans they lose mostly due to not being physical or aggressive enough.

ODH, yes exceptions exist but I am talking about guys like Bono, Microwavy, Williams, Schwab, Zadick, Henson, Cejudo and so on.

    Cejudo has an impressive physique?
Abas certainly does not, especially compared to someone like Henson who he dominated. You can also add to the list John Smith and Bruce Baumgartner. The two best American Freestylers ever, did not look like bodybuilders.
