Aleksandr Karelin training
anyone knew how karelin mainly trained during his olympic reign. i've always wondered how he came to become the most dominant wrestler ever.
im a highschool wrestler in lousiana planning a training regimen for me during the summer. im trying to include is much challenging and hardcore workouts to become better for next season. id like to see how he trained so i could train like him.
Re: Aleksandr Karelin training
When he was born he weighed 15 pounds. That was the start to his greatness and bigness.
What he called fun was getting up early in the morning in Siberia, running through the woods in knee deep snow about 6 miles, then drinking a gallon of milk and sleeping for 2 hours after that in a warm bed.

Here are some Alexander Karelin resources:
His Russian website (in Russian):
http://www.karelin.ru/ps.html
I typed in "Alexander Karelin training" into google and came up with plenty of links that may be of use to you:

There's a Yahoo group that's a tribute to the Siberian Tiger:

On the "up close and personal" profiles of Karelin produced by NBC for the Olympics, the training routines I remember being shown and/or mentioned were carrying a refrigerator on his back... and trudging through very deep snow. These options may not be readily available to you.
Good luck in your quest.
