Karelin trained three times per day during olympics reign, the day started with jog and a wrestling training. Another wrestling training in the middle day and the last wrestling session in the evening. Karelin trained like that monday, tuesday, thursday and friday. Wendensdays he played mix of basketball and american football. Saturdays he played soccer and sunday was day off.

Here's a interview of Karelin made by Finnish TV back in 1995. There's 4 videos where you can see him training and even speaking little bit of English :D
I hope that you are able to see the videos because sometimes the videos are only available in Finland.

I remember an article at Finnish sport magazine where Sweden's Tomas Johansson said that Karelin trained with 40 kg (88 pound) kettlebells. He also said that those kettlebells were light to Mr.Karelin.
