Isn't it amazing? Here the wrestlers spend all their lives training for a hope of one Olympic medal and yet you got swimmers that can come home with as many as 8 medals from a single Olympics.

Please enjoy their post-event interviews too where they will get upset that they won 7 instead of 8 medals.

Olympics is controlled by money too much.

i couldnt agree more big. I always think about how misleading that is. Wrestling is so much more competitive and yet so much less appreciated.

But the IOC will tell you that the reason wrestling now has only 7 weights for men and 4 for women is that there were too many medals being handed out.

How many swimming and diving events are there if you include syncronized? or track and field? or gymnastics if you include rythmic and trampoline?

It's a joke and FILA is to blame for laying down and taking it.

That is definitely a part of it. After a North Korean won Gold in Atlanta in freestyle at 48kg, that weight was axed. That North Korean also won in 92 and I don't believe any Americans ever won or even medaled at Olympics that wasn't boycotted at this weight.

Surely you don't believe USA wrestling has enough pull with FILA to chose which weight classes get axed.

The Olympic committee, largely sponsored by America, could have something to do with suggestions to FILA though.

Do you really think an US Olympic committee spends a lot of time worrying about who is winning a Gold at 48K in FS wrestling?
I know your world revolves around wrestling, but I highly doubt that is high on the list of member of the USOC.
